A Story a Century in the Making

Long before it was 598 Laine Estate, this Craftsman home above Monterey Bay was a private summer retreat, a quiet sanctuary, and one of the Peninsula's first bed and breakfasts. Four generations of owners have each added their own chapter since 1911 — and we're honored to be writing the next one. Here's the story of how a hillside house became home.

A cozy living room with patterned wallpaper, a leather Chesterfield sofa, and wooden furniture. There are lamps, a fireplace with decorative items, and a view of a garden outdoor area through glass doors.
