Each space at 598 Laine Estate is uniquely its own—thoughtfully designed to reflect the character of this historic 1911 Craftsman home while embracing a sense of quiet whimsy. No two are alike, yet all share a feeling of comfort, authenticity, and understated elegance.

    TOVES

    King ~ En-suite Bath ~ Main Floor ~ Sleeps 2

    This spacious first floor room has its own secret garden. Enjoy the view of the Monterey Bay from the garden. The Toves room also has a spectacularly carved King bed, private bath with Jacuzzi/shower for two and a fireplace. A separate dressing room and water closet are three steps down and they open out to the private garden.

    BOROGOVE

    Our largest room, the Borogove is the ultimate indulgence. An extraordinary king bed, cozy fireplace, sitting area and private bath with Jacuzzi for two, this spacious room offers a magnificent view of the Monterey Bay.

    BRILLIG

    King ~ En-suite Bath ~ Second Floor ~ Sleeps 2

    The Brillig room is made warm and charming with Craftsman-style decor, a beautiful rolled-oak queen bed, a private bath with shower and a handsome tiled fireplace. One of our finest Bay View rooms, the Brillig is decorated with William Morris style wallpaper and has beautiful turn of the 19th century pocket doors to make up its private bath.

    TULGEY WOOD

    Queen ~ Detached Private Bath ~ Second Floor ~ Sleeps 2

    A cozy corner room with grand views of the bay, furnished with a queen-sized bed, lovely antique dresser. This, our smallest room, with grand views of both the Monterey Bay and our gardens. There is a private, spacious, detached (just down the hall) bath exclusive to the Tulgey Wood.

    MOME RATH

    This large Craftsman room is quite romantic with a beautiful king size bed and antique mahogany headboard, an elegantly-tiled fireplace and a large soaking bath for two. A pleasant but partial Monterey Bay view also awaits you if you choose to stay in the Mome Rath.

    WABE

    Queen ~ En-suite Bath ~ Third Floor ~ Sleeps 2

    This quaint and peaceful room is decorated in soft apricot, has a private bath and a lovely hand-carved queen-sized bed.

    Located on the third floor (no elevator) next to Mimsy, couples traveling together will enjoy sharing the quaint common sitting area just “outside” of the guest room door.

    MIMSY

    Queen ~ En-suite Bath ~ Third Floor ~ Sleeps 2

    With a comfy window seat that overlooks our gardens and the fabulous Monterey Bay, this third floor room has a private bath, glass enclosed shower, and a queen-sized bed.

    Located on the third floor (no elevator) next to Wabe, couples traveling together will enjoy sharing the quaint common sitting area just “outside” of the guest room door.

    TUMTUM TREE

    King ~ En-suite Bath ~ First Floor ~ Sleeps 4

    The Tumtum Tree is a quaint Craftsman styled cottage nestled amongst a grove of Monterey Cypress and a giant redwood in our backyard. Nearly surrounded by a redwood deck, the cottage boasts magnificent views of the Monterey Bay and our gardens. With separate sleeping room and living room, it can easily accommodate a family of four by using a surprisingly comfortable sofa sleeper.
