Between a historic U.S. Open, the return of Car Week, and a full calendar of festivals, races, and tastings, 2027 is shaping up to be one of the busiest years the Monterey Peninsula has seen in a while.
February
AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am — February 1–7, 2027 One of the PGA Tour's most beloved events, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am pairs touring pros with celebrities and amateurs across Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill, and Monterey Peninsula Country Club. Tournament rounds run February 4–7. It's a full week of golf, celebrity sightings, and a lively atmosphere across the Peninsula — and hotel availability tightens up well in advance.
Jazz Bash by the Bay — early March 2027 (dates projected, not yet confirmed) A wall-to-wall weekend of traditional jazz and swing at the Monterey Conference Center and Portola Hotel,.
April
Pebble Beach Food & Wine — April 1–4, 2027 The West Coast's premier epicurean event returns for four days of wine tastings, cooking demonstrations, and exclusive dining experiences, with hundreds of acclaimed wineries and celebrity chefs gathered along the coast at Pebble Beach.
Sea Otter Classic — April 15–18, 2027 The Sea Otter Classic at Laguna Seca is the world's largest cycling festival and industry expo — four days of racing, demos, and a massive outdoor expo for riders and fans alike.
Big Sur International Marathon — April 23–26, 2027 (race day Sunday, April 25) 26.2 miles of the most scenic — and challenging — coastline anywhere, from Big Sur's redwoods along Highway 1 into Carmel. One of the most in-demand running weekends on the entire West Coast; runners and their families book up the Peninsula well ahead of race day.
Monterey SportsCar Championship — April 30–May 2, 2027 The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship returns to Laguna Seca, bringing the world's top prototype and GT classes to one of the most technical tracks in motorsports.
May
PG Good Old Days — May 1–2, 2027 Pacific Grove's hometown festival, with the county's largest arts and crafts show, a parade down Pine Avenue, and live entertainment across four stages.
Carmel Art Festival — May 14–16, 2027 Gallery events, artist demonstrations, and a plein-air painting competition throughout Carmel-by-the-Sea, with finished works displayed on Mission Street.
California Roots Music and Arts Festival — May 28–31, 2027 (Memorial Day weekend) One of the largest festivals of its kind on the West Coast — three days of reggae, hip-hop, and reggae-rock across multiple stages, drawing thousands of fans daily.
Spartan Race — May 29–30, 2027 A punishing obstacle-course weekend at Toro Park, just outside Salinas, drawing competitors from across the region.
June
U.S. Open Championship at Pebble Beach — June 17–20, 2027 The biggest event on this entire list. Golf's national championship returns to Pebble Beach Golf Links for the first time since 2019, bringing the world's best players — and massive crowds — to the Peninsula for a full week of practice rounds and championship play. If there's one week in 2027 to book your stay as early as possible, this is it.
Carmel Culinary Week — June 6–13, 2027 (dates projected, not yet confirmed) A week of curated menus, special events, and offers at participating restaurants throughout Carmel-by-the-Sea.
Ferrari Challenge North America — mid-to-late June 2027 (dates projected, not yet confirmed) Five of Ferrari's elite racing programs converge at Laguna Seca, including rare XX and F1 Clienti cars, with paddock access for fans.
July
MotoAmerica Superbikes at Monterey — July 9–11, 2027 (dates projected, not yet confirmed) Practice and qualifying on Friday, followed by a full weekend of superbike racing at Laguna Seca, with open paddock access to meet the riders.
August — Monterey Car Week
Monterey Car Week is the Peninsula's biggest week of the year, running roughly August 2–15, 2027, with the core week of events August 10–15. A few highlights:
Pre-Historic Monterey Auto Races — August 6–8, 2027: track time for over 300 historic race cars ahead of the main event.
Pebble Beach Tour d'Elegance — Thursday, August 12, 2027.
Pebble Beach Auctions — Wednesday, August 11 through Saturday, August 14, 2027.
Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Laguna Seca — August 11–14, 2027.
Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, the 76th running — Sunday, August 15, 2027.
This is the single most in-demand stretch of the year for lodging anywhere near Monterey, Pebble Beach, or Carmel.
September
Monterey Jazz Festival — September 24–26, 2027 Marking its 70th anniversary (MJF70), the Monterey Jazz Festival is one of the longest-running jazz festivals in the world, bringing world-class musicians to the Monterey Fairgrounds for a full weekend of performances. Late September is also one of the Peninsula's most beautiful times of year.
